JONESBORO, Ark.—A Colorado company that handles customer service calls for telecommunications corporations announced Monday it will open a new center in Jonesboro, Ark., that will eventually employ more than 500 people.

Denver-based StarTek Inc. said in a news release that the new center will provide services to an undisclosed telecom client. StarTek will be hiring customer service representatives, supervisors, and managers.

StarTek president and chief executive Larry Jones credited Arkansas State University, Crowley’s Ridge College, the Workforce Center, county officials and economic development groups in attracting the company to Arkansas.

StarTek employees answer customer service and support calls for corporations in the wireless, wireline, cable-broadband-satellite business.
