A Platteville couple has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in Weld County.

Timothy Stoudt, 34, and Valerie Trevino, 29, were arrested yesterday at home, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputy Shane Scofield said in the release that officials began investigating the pair after a TV news station aired video of the suspects and a viewer called in a tip.

Scofield said that two are suspected of stealing numerous items from a home on March 23 —- Easter Sunday. The investigation into that burglary, led officials to believe several recent similar crimes were committed by the same suspects.

The daytime burglaries in the areas of the I-25 frontage road around the Mead and Johnstown exits; northwest of Windsor, and east of Kersey, the release said.

Some of the stolen property was found in the home where Stoudt and Trevino were arrested, Scofield said, and some has been found at various pawn shop.
