BOULDER—Boulder County sheriff’s officials say three middle school students face charges over prescription drug pills meant for treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Authorities investigated after a report by Nevin Platt Middle School officials that a student had brought in prescription drugs to trade with another student for alcohol.
Sheriff’s officials say the student gave one pill to a classmate who took it and later was taken to an emergency room by her grandparents, and gave other pills to a third student to hold for her until the end of the day.
The students were arrested Thursday. One faces charges of possession and distribution of a controlled substance. The other two face charges of possession.
