Duck hunting and duck art have been viscerally connected since aboriginal cave paintings. The association will extend to wildfowl conservation with the auction of five original paintings from the Colorado Duck Stamp Competition to benefit Ducks Unlimited.

The event will be at 6-9 p.m. on May 2 at the Museum of Nature and Science.

In addition to the winning painting, “Incoming, Lesser Scaup,” pictured above, by Jeffrey Klinefelter, the auction includes the second-, fourth-, fifth- and seventh- place entries, along with separate items.

The cost to attend is $100, $150 for couples, and all proceeds go to the wetlands conservation organization. Call 303-894-4430 for reservations.
