The Colorado Mammoth set up a National Lacrosse League division-title deciding game this week after its 13-8 victory over the host Edmonton Rush on Saturday. It was the Mammoth’s second win in as many nights over the Rush in a home-and-home series.

Jamie Shewchuk had four goals and three assists and Gavin Prout added three goals for the Mammoth (9-6), moving it a game ahead of San Jose (8-7) atop the West Division. Colorado and San Jose will play Friday night in San Jose, Calif., to decide the title.

DU lacrosse falls to Ohio State.

Ohio State’s Joel Dalgarno had nine goals and one assist to lead the No. 11 Buckeyes to a 20-13 victory over No. 18 Denver in a Great Western Lacrosse League men’s game in Columbus, Ohio. The teams played in front of a crowd of 29,601 — an NCAA regular-season attendance record.

Pioneers freshman Jamie Lincoln tallied three goals, his 12th multigoal game of the season. His 38 goals this season are a DU record, surpassing the 36 scored by current assistant coach Matt Brown in 2005.

Brahmas force Game 6.

Scott Sheppard’s three goals, including the overtime winner, helped keep the Texas Brahmas alive after a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Eagles in the Central Hockey League conference finals in North Richland Hills, Texas. The Eagles lead the series 3-2, with Game 6 scheduled for Monday in Loveland.

Three Colorado State women’s basketball players are leaving the team after earlier asking for their releases.

Elle Queen, the team’s third-leading scorer as a freshman; sophomore Emily Neal; and freshman Lauren Young were granted their releases.
