CARSON, Calif. — Landon Donovan scored two goals on pinpoint passes from David Beckham to give Los Angeles a Major League Soccer tie Saturday night.
Donovan made a sliding shot in the 84th minute to even the game at 2-2. His earlier goal, on a diving header in the 67th minute, had tied it 1-1.
Toronto FC 1, Real Salt Lake 0
TORONTO — Newcomer Laurent Robert scored on a free kick in the 31st minute in Toronto FC’s home opener.
Robert, a former French international who was signed by Toronto this month, scored the game-winner from just outside the top of the 18-yard box, firing the ball through the Salt Lake wall and past goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
Red Bulls 1, Revolution 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jeff Larentowicz scored on a direct free kick in the second half with New England down a man, helping the Revolution rally for a tie.
Jozy Altidore scored his first goal of the season for the Red Bulls, who lost striker Juan Pablo Angel midway through the match with a hamstring strain.
