The Nuggets reaped immediate dividends from inserting forward Linas Kleiza into the lineup. Denver started Game 2 against the Lakers in much better fashion than in the series opener. Kleiza scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting in the first quarter.
Defense on Gasol.
Wednesday’s game was a complete reversal in Pau Gasol’s production from Game 1. Denver held the 7-footer to 18 points and 10 rebounds. He scored only four points and shot just 1-for-5 in the first half.
Zoning law.
The Nuggets’ zone defense showed it could at least slow the Lakers a little. When the Nuggets were at their best, during the third quarter, their zone defense was a big reason. Chris Dempsey, The Denver Post
