Who says Colorado high-schoolers can’t have spring football? Football University was held last weekend at the Foothills Parks and Recreation Indoor Center to the tune of 80 hopefuls and instructors such as former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, left. By invitation only, Coloradans and others from surrounding states participated in a program that centered on developing skills and has grown to 15 cities. Overland coach Tony Manfredi, active for years in offseason programs in the state and nationally, said, it was encouraging to see “our talent is as good as there is in the country. It’s just that (the more populated areas) have more of it.”
