Residents of the west side of town are smelling a lot of smoke where there’s not much fire, according to Englewood authorities.
Around 8 tonight a fire ignited in some material stored in an outside yard at All Recycling at 1775 West Wesley Ave. in Englewood.
The rubber or plastic material on fire was a real smoker, visible from downtown Denver, but it was quickly surrounded by firefighters, said Englewood Police and Lt. Phil Champagne, a spokesman for the Denver Fire Department, which assisted.
Champagne characterized the actual blaze as a “trash fire” and the effort to contain it as a “surround and drowned.”
No buildings or other structures were threatened by the fire.
