A Denver man who worked in private community corrections facility was charged Wednesday with bribery for selling clean, drug-free urine samples to people on probation or parole.
Russell Grant III, 31, of Denver has been released from custody ona $10,000 person recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court today to be formally advised of the charges.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey announced the charge of bribery Wednesday.
An investigation into the activities began several months ago into allegations that an individual was selling “clean” urine samples to those undergoing urine analysis at the Williams Street Center in Denver.
The investigation was conducted by the Denver District Attorney’s Office, the Inspector General’s Office of the Colorado Department of Corrections and the Metro Gang Task Force.
Grant was a part-time employee of the facility.
A probable cause affidavit states that an undercover officer paid Grant $180 to an undercover police officer posing as a parolee.
