A 26-year-old Colorado Springs woman was killed inside her home in the presence of four children.
Pola Yesenia Valenzuela was strangled during a “domestic disturbance” at about 9 p.m. Wednesday in her apartment in the 4800 block of Astrozon Blvd.

The children — ages 9, 7, 6 and 9 months — were not physically harmed, police said. They are now with their maternal grandmother.

This article has been corrected in this online archive. Originally, it indicated that the victim was both strangled and shot. She was, in fact, only strangled.
