Kansas cornerback Aquib Talib (No. 20, by Tampa Bay) became the only Big 12 player chosen Saturday in the first round of the NFL Draft, but the conference fared much better in Round Two.

Kansas State wideout Jordy Nelson got things started, going to Green Bay with the fifth pick of the second round, No. 36 overall.

Linebackers Curtis Lofton (Oklahoma; No. 37 by Atlanta) and Jordon Dizon (Colorado; No. 45 by Detroit), wide receivers Malcolm Kelly (Oklahoma; No. 51 by Washington) and Limas Sweed (Texas; No. 22 by Pittsburgh), tight end Martellus Bennett (Texas A&M; No. 61 by Dallas) and cornerback Terrence Wheatley (Colorado; No. 62 by New England) followed.

Big 12 players who figure to see their names called today during rounds 3-7 include Texas running back Jamaal Charles, Kansas offensive tackle Anthony Collins, Missouri tight end Martin Rucker, Texas A&M defensive tackle Joseph “Red” Bryant, Texas offensive tackle Tony Hills, Kansas wide receiver Marcus Henry, Colorado offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus, Nebraska cornerback Zacary Bowman, Texas defensive lineman Frank Okam and Oklahoma cornerback Reggie Smith.

The third round begins at 8 a.m. Mountain.
