Weather throughout most of Colorado should be sunny and seasonably warm over the next three days but a strong cold front packing wet weather is on its way.
High temperatures in Denver should climb into the 70s through Wednesday, the weather service reports, but a cold front out of the northwest is expected to hit the state Wednesday night.
The front will bring a good chance – 60 percent – of snow to some mountain areas and a mix of rain and snow to Denver and parts of the plains.
Strong winds on Wednesday will precede the front and wildland fire dangers in the foothills and on the plains will arise, the weather service warns.
Today’s high temperature in Denver should reach about 72 degrees, according to the weather service, with highs on Tuesday and Wednesday at about 77 degrees.
Thursday’s high temperature in Denver should be about 30 degrees lower, reaching only 51 degrees under cloudy and wet skies.
Some mountain areas and parts of northeastern Colorado could see significant snow accumulations, the weather service reports.
