Avalanche star Peter Forsberg will not play in tonight’s Game 4 against the Detroit Red Wings.
At a Pepsi Center skatearound this morning, coach Joel Quenneville said Forsberg’s groin issues have not cleared enough for him to take the ice.
Ryan Smyth will also be out with a lingering foot injury.
The Avalanche will play seven defensemen tonight, according to Quenneville.
The Avs are down 3-0 in the series.
