DENVER — The Pentagon says a soldier based at Fort Carson has died after being injured by an explosive device that detonated near his unit during combat in Baghdad.
The solider has been identified as 30-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Lawrence Ezell of Portland, Texas. He died Wednesday.
Ezell was assigned to the 71st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group at Fort Carson near Colorado Springs.
