Call it a day for the dueling Orvis shops. Or simply a great opportunity. Either way, learning fly-fishers can take their pick of locations Sunday to add considerably to that building body of knowledge.

In central Denver, the Cherry Creek Orvis store features a 11 a.m.-5 p.m. instructional series that begins with Kerry Caraghar’s advice for beginners, continues with Dave Lovell’s fly-casting and includes an all-day sprinkling of knots, rigging and flies.

You’ll find it all at 2701 E. First Ave., 303-355-4554.

Orvis Englewood’s focus will be on fly tying, with Herman de Gala showing off favorite patterns noon-1 p.m. and Jonathan Keisling demonstrating Czech nymph patterns 1:30-2:30 p.m. It’s all at 9615-A E. County Line Road, 303-768-9600.
