A June 3 meeting of the Northeast Region Sportsman’s Advisory Group will allow public discussion on a number of key wildlife issues.
Among these is the upcoming 5-year big game season structure, changes to duck hunting regulations along the South Platte River, zebra mussel management, Rocky Mountain National Park elk culling and a potential landowner lockout for the 2008 pheasant season. Attendees also will have an opportunity to meet new regional manager Steve Yamashita.
The 6 p.m. event will be at the Division of Wildlife education building, 6060 Broadway.
Basalt range changes.
A construction project aimed at improving the Colorado Division of Wildlife shooting range at Basalt will cause changes in use patterns during May. Shooting is allowed on weekends and on weekdays after 6 p.m. Revised hours also will be in effect beginning July 1, with shooting from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekends.
