An inmate at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility was found unresponsive Saturday afternoon in his cell and was pronounced dead.
The 56-year-old man, whom authorities have not named, was brought into the facility on Friday at about 11:25 p.m.
He was found unresponsive in his cell at 4:36 p.m., and authorities attempted to revive him. When efforts failed, he was pronounced dead.
The man was being held for an outstanding warrant and suspicion of unlawful distribution/manufacturing/possession of cocaine and false reporting.
There do not appear to be suspicious circumstances involved in the inmate’s death, according to the sheriff’s office.
