• A news brief on Wednesday’s Page 2B about the legal battle over St. Stephen’s Parish did not include the information that breakaway parishioners filed a lawsuit on April 6, 2007, asking the court to determine ownership of the parish’s property, after the diocese froze the church’s accounts. Episcopal Bishop Rob O’Neil then countersued the parish and 18 members to gain possession of the $17 million landmark church. Each party is seeking damages from the other.
