Chrysler rolls out national advertising today for a program that guarantees $2.99 a gallon gasoline for three years or 36,000 miles with the purchase of a new vehicle.
“It’s a great insurance policy,” said John Schenden, owner of Pro Chrysler Jeep in Thornton. “Gas is something everyone has always talked about, but now it’s on every customers mind.”
The gas card program, dubbed “Let’s Refuel America,” is available on almost all Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles and runs through June 2. New car buyers are offered the program in lieu of other available rebates or incentives; it is not automatic.
Once a new car owner has the gas card, they use it at gas stations and pay $2.99 a gallon, the remainder of the bill goes to Chrysler.
“It’s an alternative for people who are concerned about gas prices,” Schenden said. “It takes away the risk of $5 a gallon. You’re locked in at $2.99.”
