The site won the EPpy Award for Best Community Website in its division (fewer than 1 million unique monthly page views).
The EPpys laud the best online work from print- and broadcast-media outlets. took the award for larger sites. has an active community, with nearly 35,000 members, averaging hundreds of comments and scores of photo uploads and blog postings each week.
Visitors can earn participation points by writing comments, rating other comments, uploading photos and voting in polls, with some readers amassing thousands of points in just a few days.
