GLENDALE — A Denver man has been arrested after leaving a 3-year-old girl locked in a car while he visited a strip club in suburban Glendale.

Alan Baxter was cited for child neglect and released after a police officer responded to the scene.

Authorities say a girlfriend gave the 20-year-old Baxter $20 to buy her daughter some dinner on May 10 but he left the child in a car to visit the strip club instead. Glendale police say a window in the vehicle was left open about three inches, but the car was locked.

The manager of a nearby shop contacted police who found the fearful child without food or water. The identities of the girl and her mother weren’t available.
