Game 1: Saturday, 6 p.m., at Detroit
Penguins 47-27-8, 102 points; first in Atlantic Division
Red Wings 54-21-7, 115 points; first in Central Division
Will the Mule play?
Johan Franzen hasn’t played since Game 1 of the conference finals with “concussion-like symptoms,” and his availability remains in doubt.
The duos:
The major difference is that the Wings’ 1-2 punch lies in linemates Pavel Datysuk and Henrik Zetterberg, while the Penguins’ combination comes from centers Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. So the Pens’ biggest chance is if they can get major production from both lines while at least keeping Datsyuk’s line from going nuts.
Is Ozzie good enough?
Until Wings goalie Chris Osgood lifts the Cup overhead, or maybe even after that, he will have his doubters . . . and that just doesn’t seem fair.
