Transportation Security Administration officials on Thursday said Denver International Airport is the first major airport in the country to have advanced technology X-ray machines installed on all of its checkpoint screening lines. The devices are used to screen carry-on luggage, personal items and shoes.
Advanced technology X-ray machines weigh 4,000 pounds apiece — 10 times more than the older generation equipment — and provide sharper, clearer images by using multiple sensors, the TSA said.
