LOUISVILLE, Ky.—A judge in Louisville has taken the unusual step of unsealing the juvenile record of a man accused of murder as an adult.
Kenneth Eastridge is charged in the murder of fellow soldier, Spc. Kevin Shields, Dec. 1 in Colorado.
Eastridge was convicted at age 12 of reckless homicide in the Louisville shooting death of another 12-year-old boy.
The Courier-Journal newspaper in Louisville filed a motion, asking Jefferson District Judge Angela McCormick Bisig to open Eastridge’s juvenile file. The motion was granted Friday.
Eastridge was convicted as a youth in the death of Billy Bowman, who was a neighbor.
The public defender filed notice of appeal to Bisig’s ruling.
