A 26-year-old Hudson man is accused of leading a Weld County sheriff’s deputy on a high-speed chase before he crashed a stolen Honda sedan in Fort Lupton this morning.

Deputy Mike Wilson was on his way to take a report on the stolen car — which was taken from a driveway in Keenesburg — when the vehicle passed him on Colorado 52 east of Fort Lupton at about 9 a.m.

The chase reached speeds of 100 mph before the Honda crashed near Grand Avenue in Fort Lupton, and the driver ran away.

A short distance away, Fort Lupton police arrested William Leon Crabtree on suspicion of felony eluding, stealing a motor vehicle, felony driving after revocation prohibited and a warrant for third-degree assault.

Crabtree is in the Weld County Jail.
