When the rain in Yuma County slowed to a drizzle before 9 p.m., officials became optimistic about avoiding any further flooding this evening, an emergency management spokeswoman said.
The county on the Eastern Plains remains under a flash flood warning 10:45 p.m. in the second day or turbulent spring weather in the region, according to the National Weather Service Office in Boulder.
Residents and travelers are still urged to use caution this evening, as runoff could still cause small creeks and streams to overflow, as well as put water across highways and underpasses.
Most region received less than inch of rain today, but it followed heavy thunderstorms with heavy amounts of hail on Wednesday, filling retention ponds and ditches.
