Getting your player ready...

As a crowd of blue and orange snaked into Invesco Field at Mile High Saturday, there were shouts of excitement and big smiles from fans who met their favorite Denver Broncos players.

“That’s freakin’ awesome,” one fan said as he exited the line, beaming down at his circa-1985 Broncos sweatshirt freshly autographed by four players.

Following shortly was the Harris family of Broomfield, decked out in matching Jay Cutler jerseys.

After devoting 20-plus years as Denver Broncos fans, the Harrises decided to bring their two children, 10-year-old Brody and 8-year-old Savannah, to the 6th Annual Fan Fair 2008 for the ultimate Broncos experience.

“It was great,” Dennis Harris said as he ushered Brody through the autograph line. “Brody’s been to two games, and we plan to take him again for his birthday in October.”

Brody proudly displayed a miniature Broncos helmet with autographs from Cutler, defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban, running back Selvin Young and former linebacker turned offensive line coach Rick Dennison. Meanwhile, little sister Savannah patiently waited to see the Broncos cheerleaders.

“It’s definitely a family event, and it’s awesome,” Kristen Harris said. “It’s very organized, and it gives you goose bumps to be this close to Jay Cutler.”

For adults, entrance into the Fan Fair is $25 and for children it’s $15. Tickets not only allow fans the chance to meet the majority of players, but grant access to an entire host of activities for both adults and children.

Gordon Feliciano of Thornton cheered on his 10-year-old son, Jacob, as he caught a pass while zig-zagging between two tubes and five cones at the Kids Junior Training Camp held on the field.

“It’s our second time at the Fan Fair, and it’s cool to watch my son live out his fantasy,” Feliciano said.

There are at least 19 stations to visit at the Fan Fair, including a game of Broncos Bingo, a Punt, Pass and Kick Competition and a Defensive Strategies class.

The Fan Fair continues today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at or through .
