It will be sunny and warm in Denver today and even warmer Tuesday.

Today’s high temperature in Denver should hit 81 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, and Tuesday’s high should be about 89 degrees.

Winds in Denver today should be mild, but gusts tomorrow could reach 23 mph.

Moisture and cooler weather moves back into the forecast on Wednesday, with a 20 percent chance of showers and afternoon thunderstorms in the city, the weather service said. Wednesday’s high temperature should be about 75 degrees.

On the Western Slope, a flood advisory continues for several rivers and creeks, including the Eagle River below Gypsum, the weather service reports.

The weather service in Grand Junction is posting a fire watch starting Tuesday at 11 a.m. for sections of west/central Colorado below 7,000 feet in elevation.

The watch, which will run through 8 p.m. Tuesday, is in anticipation of strong, gusty winds and low humidity combining with warmer weather and already dry ground cover.
