Denver also saw a 4 percent increase in the same period, the study found.

Overall visitors to the state totaled 26.9 million and the state’s national share of travel rose from 2.35 percent in 2006 to 2.5 percent last year. And domestic travel spending was up 10 percent to a record $9.8 percent.
