AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Air Force Academy officials say the weather may have forced a cadet to land a TG-15 glider on a golf course.

Cadet 1st Class Kurt Cloutier, a senior at the academy, landed the aircraft Wednesday near the western-most hole of a Garden of the Gods golf course that was closed for the day. Academy officials say there were no civilians in the area, and no private property was damaged.

The academy says initial reports are that Cloutier landed the glider because the weather caused a loss of lift that kept him from returning to the Air Force Academy Airfield.

Cloutier is an instructor pilot and was the only person on board.

Academy officers were reviewing the incident.
