Loveland police have made an arrest in a year-old murder.
On May 27, 2007, the body of Sander “Sandy” Hansen, 48, of Loveland was found in an irrigation canal in the 3500 block of North Garfield Avenue. He had been stabbed twice in the abdomen and then drowned.
Today, police said in a news release that Daniel Monacelli, 32, of Loveland was responsible for the killing.
Monacelli was arrested on second-degree-murder charges Wednesday night and is being held at the Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins.
