CORTEZ — A judge ruled prosecutors can proceed with their case against a man accused of killing his father, dismembering the body, feeding flesh to coyotes and encasing hands, feet and skull in concrete in buckets.
Jeremiah R. Berry, 20, was in court Friday where a detective described a police interview in April. About a dozen people, including friends of Berry, were in the courtroom.
Berry told police he shot Jack Berry in a canyon on or about Feb. 19 after his father allegedly raped him. Before raping him, he said, his father told him he had been told by God his son needed a sex change to become his wife.
