SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.—A mechanical problem forces a plane bound for Denver to land at a Scottsbluff airport.

Officials say United Airlines flight 7177, operated by Mesa Airlines, was traveling from Rapid City, S.D., to Denver when it was diverted Thursday evening. Officials say an oil pressure problem caused it to make an emergency landing at Western Nebraska Regional Airport.

The plane was carrying 37 passengers and landed safely in Scottsbluff around 9:30 p.m. MDT.

Airport Manager Darwin Skelton said Friday morning that the passengers stayed in Scottsbluff overnight, while mechanics repaired to the plane. Skelton says all but two of its passengers flew to Denver early Friday morning on a plane brought in overnight by Great Lakes Aviation.
