The Boulder Police Department will not charge 13 suspects who participated in a scavenger hunt that involved the theft of about 200 items.

The suspects were seniors at Boulder High School when the scavenger hunt took place in May, said Sarah Huntley, a spokeswoman for the department.

The students agreed to help police return the items, and they will participate in a resorative justice program. About 30 items have been returned.

The case is still open, however. Police are investigating 14 other suspects, who were also seniors at Boulder High School.

Police found street signs, lawn ornaments, flags, dishes, a hospital wheelchair, mailboxes and other items near the Four Mile Creek Trailhead after receiving a noise complaint May 17.
