OK. You’re right. The NBA stars get away with a lot more (traveling, fewer fouls) than the newbies. But the PGA also has a double standard as witnessed by Sunday’s U.S. Open. There was Tiger in the bunker on the 18th. He swings. Horrible shot. He tosses his club in disgust. Now, I’m listening to the commentary and not one mention of Tiger’s hissy fit. It was as if Tiger was an angel. If Rocco Mediate had done the same the announcers would have lamented how unsportsmanlike that was and how it was wrong to show temper on the course, especially in front of millions watching on TV.
Rocco deserved to be crowned in regulation.
