SUMMIT COUNTY — Divers recovered the body of a Commerce City man from Green Mountain Reservoir just before noon Sunday.
The body of Heraldo “Victor” Almeida, 24, was found about 80 feet offshore in about 12 feet of water near the Prairie Point beach, at the east end of the reservoir. He had been reported missing about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Almeida and two friends were on their way back to Commerce City after participating in a fishing derby in Kremmling when they decided to stop for a swim at the reservoir.
Summit County coroner Joanne L. Richardson said the circumstances of Almeida’s death are consistent with accidental drowning.
