Talk about a gift you just can’t give away. An English pigeon that made headlines in 1998 — when she flew 1,200 miles from Spain back to her original owner — did it again this month, though not as far, limping back home 10 years after she had been given away again. “I checked the tag and nearly collapsed when I saw who it was,” Dino Reardon told the London Daily Mail. “She could barely stand up and couldn’t even make it into the aviary — she was just exhausted.” But Reardon has only himself to blame, considering he’s the one who originally named the bird . . . “Boomerang.” The Seattle Times
