Sixth Avenue Pet Source, at 810 E. Sixth Ave. in Denver, celebrates the second birthday of one of its doggy dignitaries — owner Rebecca Gershten’s Shar-Pei/German Shepherd mix, Rocky — on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a green pet event. The day will include a sidewalk sale, treat tasting and demonstrations on how to build your own Earth-friendly dog-doo disposal system. “I couldn’t help think about how many millions of pounds of poo go into non-biodegradable plastic bags and then into our landfills,” Gersten says. “There had to be a better way.”
