KANSAS CITY — After pressing in his return from the disabled list, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will not be in the lineup today in the series finale against the Royals.

Tulowitzki had started every game since rejoining the team Friday. He is 3-for-20 at the plate since returning.

Omar Quintanilla will start in his place at shortstop. Quintanilla has shown much more offensive potential this season than last, hitting .271, with one home run and 10 RBIs.

There will be extra attention on this game as the umpires are expected to monitor any retaliation for Kansas City’s Ramon Ramirez throwing twice behind Yorvit Torrealba on Tuesday.

A look at the Rockies lineup:

CF Taveras

DH Spilborghs

LF Holliday

1B Helton

3B Atkins

RF Hawpe

2B Barmes

C Iannetta

SS Quintanilla

Pitchers:

Rockies’ RHP Aaron Cook

vs. Royals’ RHP Luke Hochevar
