MEXICO CITY — Two tropical storms in the east Pacific are expected to weaken by Monday.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Boris and Cristina have not been a threat to land. They maintain their westward track away from Mexico hundreds of miles off shore from the southern tip of Baja California.
Boris, nearly 700 miles off shore on Sunday morning, was moving west at 9 mph with winds at 50 mph. Cristina, about 1,300 miles off shore, was moving west at 8 mph with winds of 40 mph.
