PHOENIX — On a painful day in the desert, the Diamondbacks put left fielder Eric Byrnes and catcher Chris Snyder on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
Byrnes is out with a strained left hamstring, Snyder with a left testicular fracture.
Arizona recalled right-hander Connor Robertson and catcher Robby Hammock from Triple-A Tucson.

Phillies right-hander Brett Myers, leading the major leagues with 24 home runs allowed and owner of the sixth-worst ERA in the majors (5.84) among qualifying pitchers, agreed to be optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley (Pa.).
• Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez was placed on the 15-day DL because of a sprained left ankle. The move was retroactive to June 24.
• The Orioles placed shortstop Alex Cintron (hamstring) on the 15-day DL.
• The Rays placed closer Troy Percival (hamstring) on the 15-day DL.
• The Giants recalled former backup catcher Eliezer Alfonzo from Triple-A Fresno (Calif.) nine days after he completed a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
• Astros catcher Humberto Quintero suffered a concussion when his helmet was struck by a bat in Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers. He will be put on the DL. Meanwhile, the players’ association filed a grievance over the release of pitcher Shawn Chacon, saying the team’s decision to terminate his contract was without just cause.
