GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A former tutor at a Grand Junction middle school faces a four-year deferred judgment after pleading guilty to sending an obscene image to a 14-year-old girl.
Twenty-one-year-old Nefi Madrigal had also been charged with felony Internet sexual exploitation of a child, but prosecutors dropped that charge Tuesday in a Mesa County courtroom.
Madrigal had served as a liason with the Latino Education Achievement to Graduation program at Orchard Mesa Middle School.
Authorities say Madrigal sent nude photographs of himself to the girl via her cell phone.
Madrigal is being ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation.
Sentencing is scheduled for August.
