Denver-based Web-development firm Indigio Group Inc. was acquired by Bridgeline Software Inc. of Boston in a cash and stock transaction worth $6 million.

Founded in 1998, Indigio is an award-winning company with about $6 million in annual sales. The company’s clients include Media News Group Interactive and the Denver Newspaper Agency.

Last month, the Colorado Software and Internet Association named Indigio the “Best Tech Workplace” in the state.

Bridgeline — in an effort to expand its presence in the Rocky Mountain region — said it expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings within the next six months.

Indigio co-founder and chief executive Tim Higgins joins Bridgeline’s management team as executive vice president and general manager of Bridgeline’s Denver operations.
