GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—In a June 30 story about contamination from gas wells, The Associated Press reported erroneously that EnCana Oil and Gas (USA) had disputed the state’s finding about the cause of a well leak in western Colorado in 2004.
EnCana says it and state regulators both concluded the well’s cement casing failed, allowing gas to flow through a naturally occurring fault and into Divide Creek.
