Tony Stewart is leaving Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of the season, reported late Tuesday night. Sources close to the driver confirmed the story to . Stewart will announce the move this week to Haas/CNC Racing and will be a co-owner and driver. The new team will be named Stewart Haas Racing. Sources also told . the deal will make Stewart the highest-paid driver in NASCAR. Haas currently runs two cars, the Nos. 66 and 70 Chevrolets. Sources said that Ryan Newman is the top candidate to drive the other Stewart Haas car in 2009. Stewart is in 12th place in the Sprint Cup standings, two points ahead of Kevin Harvick.
