A 17-year-old driver who turned in front of a motorcycle in May, causing a fatal crash, won’t face charges, after a review by the Boulder County District Attorney’s office.

The girl driving the Kia sedan had turned left on the low side of a hill on North 75th Street at Rozena Street in Boulder, when a Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle driven by Jacob Gonzales, 25, of Westminister crested traveling at between 100 and 130 mph, the investigation determined.

The crash happened on May 24. The announcement of the driver’s exoneration was made today.

Gonzales died before he could be taken to a hospital. The driver was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where she recovered. A passenger sustained minor injuries.
