BOULDER, Colo.—Two teenage boys are being held on bond after Longmont police arrested them on suspicion of sexual assault.
The alleged attack involves a girl that police say is mentally handicapped. Authorities say the assault is alleged to have occurred Monday at a Longmont home, and was reported to police on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested during traffic stops in Longmont and Mead on Wednesday.
Longmont Cmdr. Tim Lewis says the alleged victim is nearly 18, but undisclosed medical issues have left her mentally underdeveloped.
The boys each face five felony charges and a misdemeanor.
They’re being held at the Boulder County Juvenile Detention Center on $10,000 bond apiece.
