BOULDER — Firefighters have called for additional assistance in battling what is now a three-alarm fire in Boulder.
More than 50 firefighters, including all available Boulder Fire Department resources and neighboring departments, were called to the 34-unit apartment complex at 949 Marine Street.
Sarah Huntley, spokesman for the Boulder Fire Department, said the fire was reported at 5:15 p.m. Flames were showing on the north side of the building and the fire was spreading through the attic.
One firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury and heat exhaustion and was treated on the scene, Huntley said. All residents were believed to have been safely evacuated.
Huntley said the owners of the building had arranged for residents to stay at the Outlook Hotel. An RTD bus was scheduled to be at Grandview and Lincoln Place at 8 p.m. to take residents to the hotel.
