BOULDER — Dozens of tenants were homeless Saturday night after a three-alarm apartment fire in Boulder.
More than 50 firefighters, including all available Boulder Fire Department resources and crews from neighboring departments, were called to the 34-unit apartment complex at 949 Marine St.
Sarah Huntley, spokeswoman for the Boulder Fire Department, said the fire was reported at 5:15 p.m. Flames showed on the north side of the building and the fire spread through the attic.
Some witnesses said the fire may have started on a patio. One firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury and heat exhaustion and was treated on the scene, Huntley said. All residents were believed to have been safely evacuated.
Huntley said the owners of the building had arranged for residents to stay at the Boulder Outlook Hotel.
